A young boy that had lost his father. At the age of sixteen he already knew very well he wasn't wanted among the people around him. He didn't belong...
Near the town were the woods. Nobody dared to ever go in there since legends said that they wait a bait to awaken and bring destruction. But near there lived the only person that seemed to ever accept him. She was also an orphan and around his age. Everyone else thought her to be the daughter of a witch and a witch herself. But he knew better. That girl was like him. They often met and wandered in the woods.
One day the boy went to meet her again. They went a bit deeper in the woods this time. They found a glass house. The glass was coloured and had wonderous images painted all over it. They also found some weird clothes. Probably once worn by important people and they were so fine made that they looked like new. They put them on to play and they felt really beautiful and special. Then the wind came. As if it was greeting old masters. They both felt special then. But the girl listened better and the wind was no wind at all. It was some sort of chant. The boy could also hear it. They were frightened when they could figure out the words of that chant. Words of evil. Evil binded in the woods longing to be released. The girl then realized. She once read books of the old legends but never until now truly believed them. Once a couple, a warrior that had married a witch, sacrificed their lives and bodies to bind a great evil in the woods. The glass house was their doing. Now these youngsters having worn the clothes and being similar to the old couple got the attention of that evil which longed for a chance to be set free. Its binding would break if a similar couple as the ones that binded it was sacrificed to it and be used as vessels. The teenagers looked up. The roof was also glass so they could see outside. People seemed to be hunging upside down from the tree above them. They looked as if they were attached to the trees. Something similar appeared on the ground as well. The girl recognized them. "The condemned ones" she said. "The ones that personize evil. They want us. We need to get out of here!". The horror they felt grew by the moment. The glass shattered with them inside. They made it out with minor injuries but they had to leave the woods. "Run!" said the boy. They ran holding hands but the condemned ones reached them. The girl was taken screaming from pain and terror. The boy looked behind but went on. He knew he could do nothing. He ran as fast as he could but the condemned reached him as well. He had his father's sword. He tried to fight back but such was the evil power that nothing could stop it. The boy ran again. He could see the fields outside the woods. If he had made it he would be safe. If he had made it...
